Competition Recap | July 31 – August 1, 2026

Last weekend, Triathlon Academy athletes competed at two major international events – the Europe Triathlon Sprint Championships in Poland and a middle-distance triathlon in Lithuania. For some, it was a chance to race against Europe’s elite, while for others it marked another important milestone in their triathlon journey. What united them all was the determination to improve, gain experience and keep pushing their limits.

🇵🇱 2026 Europe Triathlon Sprint and Relay Championships Elbląg

The European Sprint Championships brought together some of the strongest triathletes in Europe, and our athletes once again proved they are ready to compete on the international stage.

Results

🏊‍♂️ Artjoms Gajevskis — 00:55:36 (28th place – Elite Men)

🏊‍♀️ Beāte Bula — 01:09:52

🏊‍♂️ Fedir Bezlepkin — 01:02:28

🇱🇻 A Historic Achievement for Latvian Triathlon

A special congratulations goes to Artjoms Gajevskis, who finished 28th overall, achieving the best result ever by a Latvian athlete at the Europe Triathlon Sprint Championships.

Artjoms delivered a consistent performance across all three disciplines, swimming with the lead group, handling the demanding cycling course with cobblestones and numerous technical corners, and finishing with one of the strongest 5 km runs of his career.

“From the very start I felt physically and mentally ready to give everything I had. I’m especially happy with my run, which was one of the best performances of my career. Finishing 28th among Europe’s strongest triathletes is something I’m truly proud of.” — Artjoms Gajevskis

Congratulations to Artjoms on this historic achievement, and we wish him continued success throughout the season!

European Elite Debut

For Beāte Bula, this race marked her debut in the Elite category at the European Championships. Racing against Europe’s top athletes is a major challenge, and we’re proud of Beāte for crossing the finish line and gaining valuable international experience that will undoubtedly help her in future competitions.

Fighting Until the Finish

Fedir Bezlepkin started the race with a very strong swim, putting himself in a competitive position early on. The bike course, however, proved extremely demanding, featuring numerous technical corners and constant surface changes that made it difficult to stay with the leading groups.

Despite the challenges, Fedir continued to fight throughout the run, working hard to regain positions until the finish line.

Congratulations on a determined performance and another valuable international experience!

Overall, all three athletes demonstrated resilience, determination and the ability to compete at the highest European level. Racing in championships of this caliber is a significant achievement in itself, and we are confident that this experience will help them continue progressing throughout the season.

🇱🇹 Panevėžys Middle Distance Triathlon

Another inspiring story came from Elīza Utināne, who completed the Panevėžys Middle Distance Triathlon in 5:19:07.

What makes this performance truly remarkable is that this is only Elīza’s first season in triathlon.

Her journey began just last year when she entered the Limbaži People’s Triathlon. She immediately fell in love with the atmosphere of the sport and decided to join Triathlon Academy. Less than a year later, she has already completed an Olympic-distance triathlon and now successfully finished her very first IRONMAN 70.3 (middle-distance) race.

Her story is a great example of what dedication, consistency and the right environment can achieve.

After the race, Elīza shared her experience:

“The beginning of the swim was the hardest part of the entire race. I felt panic and even thought about giving up. But I stayed calm, found my rhythm and after that everything started to click. On the bike I felt fantastic, focused on my pacing and nutrition, and the kilometers flew by.” — Elīza Utināne

Congratulations to Elīza on an outstanding performance! Her journey shows that with commitment, patience and hard work, remarkable progress is possible in a very short time.
