Race Recap | 18–19 July 2026

It was another huge weekend for Triathlon Academy athletes! 🌍🔥

Our team was competing across Europe in a wide variety of events—from the European Aquathlon Championships and European Triathlon Cup to IRONMAN 70.3, the Latvian Middle Distance Championships, the Ukrainian Triathlon Championships, the Latvian 10 km Road Running Championships, and cycling races.

Different countries, different distances, different goals—but one common motivation: to become stronger with every start. 💙

🇪🇸 2026 Europe Triathlon Aquathlon Championships Banyoles

Fedir Bezlepkin delivered an excellent performance at the European Aquathlon Championships, finishing 8th overall in 31:29, just 2:43 behind the winner.

A confident swim followed by a strong and consistent run once again proved that Fedir is ready to compete at the European level. A fantastic result and another important step forward this season.

🇭🇺 2026 Europe Triathlon Cup Tata

Beāte Bula represented Latvia at the Europe Triathlon Cup Tata, finishing with a time of 1:08:22.

Competing in a European Cup always provides valuable international experience and the opportunity to race against some of Europe’s strongest athletes. Every start at this level is another step forward and an important part of the long-term development process.

🇵🇱 IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia

This race was especially memorable for our team.

Viktorija Rozentāle crossed the finish line in 6:16:03, completing not only her first IRONMAN 70.3—but her very first triathlon ever! 👏

Starting your triathlon journey with a half Ironman takes courage, determination and months of preparation. Congratulations on an incredible debut!

Edgars Riekstiņš finished in 5:13:17. For Edgars, this race served as an important preparation event on the road to IRONMAN Barcelona. The primary objective was to test race nutrition, pacing and overall race strategy over a long distance rather than chase a personal best. The plan worked perfectly, making this a very valuable training race.

🇱🇻 Ventspils Triathlon – Latvian Middle Distance Championships

Another successful weekend came at the Latvian Middle Distance Championships.

Normunds Freibergs completed his first-ever IRONMAN 70.3 in 5:07:15.

Normunds has made remarkable progress this season. After completing a sprint triathlon and an Olympic-distance race earlier this year, he successfully stepped up to the middle distance. His steady improvement is a great example of consistent work paying off.

Rihards Ēvele also made his IRONMAN 70.3 debut, finishing in 5:20:29. A confident race from start to finish and another impressive milestone achieved.

It’s especially rewarding to see our athletes continuously improving their personal performances while confidently taking on longer and more demanding races.

So… what’s next? 😉 Of course—the sub-5-hour IRONMAN 70.3 barrier! 🔥

🇺🇦 Ukrainian Triathlon Championships (Supersprint)

Our female athletes once again demonstrated their strength on the international stage.

🥇 Sofia Bondarenko became the overall champion, winning the race in 25:12.

🥉 Leya Bezlepkina earned 3rd place in the Junior category.

Both athletes raced with confidence, determination and true winning spirit. Outstanding performances and well-deserved results!

🇱🇻 Latvian 10 km Road Running Championships

Emīls Stalažs finished in 38:37, earning 🥈 2nd place in his age group.

Another strong performance and further proof that consistent training continues to deliver excellent results.

🇱🇻 Coldingen Cycling Cup 2026

Our cyclists also enjoyed a successful weekend.

Edgars Akmeņkalns finished in 33:42, securing 🥈 2nd place in his age group. 🚴‍♂️

Congratulations on another podium finish and another excellent race!

The season continues! 💙

We are incredibly proud of every athlete representing Triathlon Academy.

Weekends like this remind us what our team is all about. Some athletes are making their first-ever starts, others are stepping up to longer distances, while some are competing against Europe’s best. Regardless of the race, every finish line represents dedication, courage and months of hard work.

Results and podiums are always exciting, but what inspires us most is seeing our athletes constantly challenging themselves and becoming stronger with every competition.

Thank you for following Triathlon Academy! 💙

The season is far from over—we’ll keep racing, improving and sharing every step of the journey with you. 🚀
